If you go down the data card route, I would suggest you also cost up the option of jut buying the card, and using a PAYG sim.Īnother thing I found - all too often there were months where I had wireless in the hotel, the client site and at home which all suited - I really did not need anything on the go. So for me, having a smart phone makes it much more sensible to turn the smart phone into a WAP is much more cost effective. I like this solution, but unfortunately here in the UK, I can't share data/minutes between two devices. Taking the train from home into London (around a hour journey from west of London into London itself), there were many pockets of low speed connectivity. It worked a treat, although just like phone data, high(er) speeds were not only available. I used a card like the one's shown in Erik's reference article, albeit a card from a different UK vendor.
